matouenpeluche !
…this is like the longest overdue post ever. I have been a HUGE fan of the sweetest blogger on the planet Sam, her blog & artwork since I laid eyes on them, months and months ago. I cannot even think of any amazing description to explain how much I love her illustrations, sorry, just look at them... Her style is brilliant , and her specialities just to name a few are amazingly stunning art deco ladies, birds, cats, etc. Her cats make me so happy..she captures them so sweetly and perfectly. I own a set with the most adorable birds wearing little suits, and they will bring a smile to anyone. One of her cutey felines are up next on my list of wants!!!
Check out her always inspiring blog, and go buy some beautiful goodies at her etsy shop here.
Black Velvet Crazy
…I find myself slightly obsessed with black velvet paintings, thanks to my recent visit to K, Tea? 's super sweet blog, where I thought I spotted a cheese-a-licious velvet nudie. I grew up with a couple around the house, in fact I have one packed somewhere that I should drag out, it’s just a nature scene though. Did any of your parents or even yourself ever rock the black velvet paintings? Some of them are so god awful crude, but they hold such kitschy charm.
via …oh wow.
via …a not so vintage version, a manatee, i want.
p.s.- there are about a gazillion jesus, elvis and unicorn ones.
p.p.s- they make want to go out and get a crappy cheap ass press wood frame, and some black velvet, and get to work.
zoo day
…lion sleep.
…i pet this gorgeous zebra creature.
…we arrived literally 15 seconds after a baby capuchin monkey was born…you can’t really see what’s going on. i need a new camera so bad.
raccoon green bean party, i was throwing green beans at them…yeah, i’m one of those.
…this goat was awesome.
…the fly attractor.
coyote blur.
…brain matter on a face head.
…Yesterday I went to the zoo with my husband and his professional illustration class. they went around and did life drawing, and i took photos with my crappy camera.
i always feel so extremely guilty seeing animals in cages, but apparently a lot of these animals were originally injured than rescued and nursed back to health. but nothing breaks my heart more than seeing big cats pacing. it’s still so cool seeing wild animals that you wouldn’t normally get to see. my husband thinks i will probably get killed by a wild animal, i always think i can become friends with them. if there wasn’t cages in between, i would probably be trying to give them all hugs. i seriously wish i could just live in harmony with all creatures…i love them all.
What are your thoughts on zoos? Do you ever frequent any?
TGIF Kitties
…eeeek, I’m late. But I got it done…woots. I would feel so incomplete if I didn’t do a TGIF Kitties.
I wish you all a splendid weekend!!! I have a 3 day weekend so I’m pumped, but I have to make up for it on Monday with a 12 hour shift…yikes, must not think of that right now though. I’m working, and that’s the main thing. I now have two part time jobs, one at a doggy daycare, and one as personal assistant/office admin for a naturopathic doctor in a home clinic..she is really cool, so I’m excited to work for her, and learn like crazy about real, natural medicine.
Have a very Happy Filled weekend!!
