Lynx Love

....So, I obviously have an obsession with the domestic cat, but my favorite animal which I'm surprised I haven't discussed yet is "The Lynx". They have been my favorite animal in the whole world since I was a wee thing. They are so very uniquely beautiful and they remind me of a fantasy creature from another world. I love their HUGE Paws and Tufts of Beauty that stem from the tips of their ears. If I was an animal I would want to be a Lynx. What would you want to be? Or What is your favorite animal???

I love that phrase - tufts of beauty.

My sister in law's partner is Native American. He says my animal totem is a deer. Apart from cats, domestic and otherwise, I do love meerkats and otters. Have you read that classic - Ring of Bright Water? Beautiful but sad.

Great post and photos. The Lynx with the open mouth has better teeth than my kitty Anni since hers are almost all missing. Must be that natural diet that keeps the teeth sharp and strong. I guess canned food doesn't compare. lol!

Thanks you guys for your sweet, sweet comments!! :D

Just wondering, the spectator, How does one finds out what their totem is?? I want to know mine..hehe. I suppose I can try and look it up. I have some far back along the the line Native American blood however I look pure Irish, but I am so intrigued by the culture. I've been meaning to do a post on Native Americans for ages.

And Pesky Cat, My kitty Turtles has never had pearlies even when a kitten. Def the diet thing. I wonder if its the bones of another animal that helps clean the chops...eeeps. ;)

I like lynx too but my favourite is the snow leopard. Thanks for visiting my blog/s. The cat one is a bit of fun, must update it with a couple of shots from my last trip, although I didn't get many good ones this time. Unfortunately I no longer have my own kitty so have to make the most of them wherever I find them.

Sooooooo beautiful! My fave cat is the caracal. They have the same tufty ears, but are less fluffy :) Oh they're all so amazing though. they look like mythical creatures...almost too pretty to be real!

Well, based on converations I've had with my brother in law animal totems are based upon a person's character/personality/behaviour.
For example my brother in law is a grey grizzly bear. My husband is 'cat man', someone who can be remote and distant, a bit superior in an aloof way. My sister in law is an otter. Playful, generally happy and usually wanting fun. Me, I'm a deer, gentle but always on the alert for 'danger'. I try to be a bit more otterish in my outlok and ways!
I bought a set of medicine cards and book. Shows you how to read various spreads, a little bit like tarot. It also defines qualities for each animal totem - positive and negative. Medicine Cards, Jamie Sams and David Carson, St Martins Press, New York. And you're right native culture is fas-kinating.
My brother in law is a descendant of Sitting Bull (I think I've got the right name, the one at Custer's Last Stand.) Anyway Sitting Bull had a close white friend called Walsh. Guess what my husband's and sister in law's mother's maiden name was? Walsh!!! I lurve stuff like that. Anyway I hope this has been of use and interest to you. Have a lovely weekend. :0

Lynx are gorgeous creatures! I have only seen pics of them once before, on someone's blog about a year ago. Thanks so much for this post. I can't stop staring at them!

My favorite animal has to be the dog (I know, no surprise). But my favorite non-domesticated animal is the giraffe. They are sweet, graceful, beautiful, gentle creatures.
