TGIF Kitties

…I can’t believe it’s Friday already!! This week flew. I hope you all have a super good time weekend. I am going to enjoy every second.

On Monday, I start an 8 day Career Course, there is a lot of testing etc that I will be taking to see what it is I would like to do as a career. I know what I like, know what I don’t like, but have a really hard time narrowing down what to focus all my time and energy on pursuing. That is where my indecisive personality comes in. I hope I’ll take something away from this and go for something. If I don’t than I know one thing I can never get bored of and that is Animals. We’ll see and I’ll keep you posted on what I learn about myself, should be interesting. hehe.

…Today, my latest little obsession is with the hedgehog…they are such silly, little, prickly creatures. I just learned that baby hedgehogs are called either hoglets or pups…I think hoglets is my new favourite word..haha, how cute. I’m not too sure if my cats would be keen on getting a hedgehog, I don’t think I would trust them. Anyhow, I just wanted to share these photos I came across of the adorable little spikey guys.

…I very happily tripped into the flicker set of BoopsieDaisy today. I have a toothache from all the sweetness and candy, but it filled me with big smiles and I wanted to pass the syrup…

Shadow Shot Sunday: Kitty Sleepover Party

…So we had Turnip, the kitty cousin over for a sleepover last night. It was his 3rd visit since Lisa, my sister in law adopted him. This was by far the best visit…there was a lot of progress as you can see in this photo and this was minutes of him arriving. The first couple of times there was a lot of hissing and growling but this time there actually was a bit of play by the end. It was so much fun. He’s a little doll. I swear you can't tell from the photo, but there was a lot of pillow fights, truth or dare, popcorn, and scary movies for the kitties...it didn't quite look like this the whole night. ;)

I love this good excuse to take pictures, even though I’m not regular with it…I’ve been busy often the last few Sundays. There are a lot of cool shadows to check out at her site.

…Yay, so its the weekend, not that it matters to me all that much cause I’m still unemployed but it seems I can relax more on the weekend, rather than looking for jobs and thinking that I should be working. I am off to go buy a hand sander, recommended to me by Marsi at the Cottage Cheese…I purchased a get this $4 night stand, its really cool and vintage but it needs to be done over. I’m leaning towards doing it over in Turquoise but not 100% yet. I redid a bookshelf before and it turned out like crap, so I’m hoping with an electric sander it will turn out a lot smoother. Sanding manually by hand is such hard work and not very fun at all. Anyhoos I’m pumped, and other than starting this lil’ project I don’t have much planned for the weekend. I wouldn’t mind getting out for a walk in the woods or something…I’ve been in the house way too much lately.

I’m blabbing so I’ll stop now but I wish you all a great weekend no matter what you choose to do. Enjoy!!!

Fungified

…I just finished watching a really interesting documentary tonight called Know your Mushrooms. It went into depth about the uses of mushrooms from culinary to poisonous to psychedelic to medicinal. Some of the people were a little too into them, as in following the rain from coast to coast to different countries hunting the precious fungus.

I am not the HUGEST mushroom fan in the world, I cannot eat them raw only cooked…the texture when they are raw doesn’t quite agree with me…kinda icky feeling in my mouth. Nonetheless, I am all of a sudden quite intrigued by the fungus. I love going for walks in the woods and seeing them at random…can’t wait for the spring. It boggles my mind how many varieties there are. Are you any of you guys fans of the fungi?

Art I Love: Audrey Malo

... I came across the adorable illustrations of Audrey Malo today, and just had to share. They are beyond sweet and I just love the way she uses colors,those watercolors are some purdy. There is something I can't put my finger on about these, that I just adore...hmmm....could it perhaps be her obvious love of cats..I do not know. ;)
