we interrupt this regular scheduled programming…

…to show you a few pictures of my kitties. ^__^ I know, I am such a dork. I don’t do this too much but c’mon how could I not go trigger-happy on my cuties, plus I like playing around with my new-ish camera. but most of all, I love them too much.

…also any of my United States readers experience the FEMA Emergency Alert System test? Where they turned off all TV, Radio and Internet for a few moments today? I would love to hear how it went or anything about it. I’m nosy..haha. It seems like a big deal to me, but maybe I’m wrong?!

…last Saturday early morning at around 3am, my husband and I awoke to a very LOUD kitty yowl. Not too uncommon because there are a lot of cats in the neighbourhood, so we didn’t think anything of it and went back to sleep. I awoke for realz the next morning at around  8:45, walked groggily down the stairs on the search for my kitty good mornings and our porch door to the outside was WIDE OPEN and NO kitties were to be found. I obviously freaked, grabbed a sweater and ran outside yelling their names. No kitties in sight. I ran in and woke Steve up to come and help. I was shaking and in a teary panic. I grabbed a bag of treats and started shaking them like there was no tomorrow. The door is still wide open, and sure enough Tuna comes jiggling on in. (her tummy jiggles when she runs, it is SO adorable) But still no Turtles. Steve went out and starting walking around the block. He found Turtles plopped under a tree, just chilling..took awhile to get him, he kept bolting. Finally cornered him when he went up our neighbour's stairs. We are guessing that that crazy yowl we heard had something to do with their exit...if so, that mean our kitties were out approx. 6 hours. Insane!!!!! Indoor cats with free run of the town. I am so thankful to have them back, i don’t know what I would of done if I had lost them. I did this funny little photo shoot of them right after.

Have any of you ever had a scary runaway incident with any of your pets?  what an awful feeling. But an immense feeling of love and relief once they return. PHEW.

Turtles & Tuna do the “Great Outdoors”

…I have been getting harassed by my Indoor kitties to go outside like crazy lately. It must be all the smells of plants growing, there are also lots of birds, squirrels, cats & dogs in our neighbourhood as well, so maybe they just cannot take it anymore being behind glass & screens. I don’t want them to be outdoor cats, but will take them out on the leashes every once in awhile so they can sniff around and do their thang. I would be way too much of a worried kitty mother to let them be outdoors all the time. Especially living in the city.

Here are some shots of the beebers outsidin’ it up.

…this is what happens when you first put the harness and leash on Tuna. She plops. and she’ll do that for a little bit, because she is being oh so dramatic about being strapped in. You have to kinda lightly drag her around a little bit, she doesn’t seem to mind. After a little bit she’ll finally get up and walk around on her own and sniff stuff.

jhl 183

…She honestly doesn’t do very much when she’s outside, she just likes to sniff and listen to whatever sounds she hears. Here she is chillin’ in the front garden while I weed. She seriously has the sweetest, most adorably funny personality, and she reminds me of a teddy bear. My little Tuna.

…me standing there “patiently” waiting for her to arise so that we could move on.

…All Turtles wants to do when he’s out is munch on grass. He wants to nibble on everything green in sight. So far no sickies.

lhhhhuio 240

…nom, nom, nom.

…sometimes his size shocks me. He is a really big kitty. I love it. Everyone always flips out and ask what I feed him.

…this evening my husband had a good idea to tie the two separate leash ends together, instead of us holding them. So that if one kitty went one way, the other would stop it from getting too far. Trust me, they never go in the same direction so wouldn’t run off into the sunset or anything, and we were out with them so could keep an eye out. Walking two cats at once is dang near impossible. I tried it a couple times and ALWAYS regret it. It is Nothing like walking dogs. It’s a very slow thing, you mostly just stand around.

…what is that they hear with their radar kitty hearing?!

…these are just a few of my work buds from my “active” job, weekday mornings. I love them to bits, and have a ball with these poochies and more, everyday. It’s especially entertaining watching them in the snow. I love trying to get shots of them in action…animals can make the funniest faces on the planet. Something as simple as kicking snow is a sure-fire way of getting some hilarious faces and body movements, which makes for some very fun photography.  Plus, it keeps me creatively stimulated while being around the furballz, a win-win situation.

…I wanted to include a couple pics of my kitty kids as well, because they are the most important, wonderful, amazing furry creatures on the planet. They make my husband and I’s world a better place. Cats can be so loving. And my goodness it’s nice coming home to quiet, peaceful kitties after running around after dogs all morning, they certainly can be a handful. hehe. Especially in big numbers.

…this is my little Tuna, she is the silliest, most sweet, sweet beeb. (so hard to get nice photos of tho, cause of her coloring)

…on their snuggle chair. <3<3<3

p.s.- We are moving at the end of the month into a bigger and better place. A duplex, a step up from a crappy apartment building. It’s really, really nice with lots of character, space and two levels…cannot wait. We want to buy a house someday, but are having trouble deciding where to settle. It’s gonna be a monster busy month of packing and purging ahead…

Enjoy the rest of your weekends!!!

My fur babies, and a couple goodies I scored

…So I scored a few great things for my birthday, I mostly went the thrift store route cause I love finding treasures, and that I did. I got a bunch of great stuff including a few books, a huge cool picture frame--that I am going to fill with a massive collage, 2 green wooden chairs, a few great articles of clothing etc etc.

…this book “Fat Cats” I picked up for my birthday is a great score for my collection.  I adore Terry Deroy Gruber’s books..he is an amazing cat photographer, with a most excellent sense of humour.  and my little tubby tuna can certainly relate to the kitties in the book…her belly jiggles as she charges into the kitchen, when she hears me in the “treat” area of the kitchen ;)

moreottiesaugie1001 084

…this is a $3 chair I picked up, yeah I know…3 bucks..this pic doesn’t really do it justice, but trust me, it’s cool.  Turtles, my man kitty claimed it right off the bat.

moreottiesaugie1001 095

…here’s funny little Tuna again with another great book I got called “Working Cats” by the same author…oh and it’s on the other green chair. This chair is very homemade with oodles of character and it’s very angular..again you can’t tell how cool it is by this crappy photo. (check out tuna’s funny little lip that always shows when she looks up…it makes me melt…even cuter in person espesh when you can see her itty little teeth)

******

…I’m gonna stop here cause well those are the only photos I took, and i really don’t want to bore anyone anymore.

We didn’t end up going to New York State because our car’s muffler sounds like a lawn mower and needs to be fixed, and my husband is finishing up school so had waaaaay too much work to do. We will have to make a rain check.

the Fabulous Animal Rescue Project

…I wanted to let you guys know of the amazing Fabulous Animal Rescue Project that Stacy from "Stuff" (the coolest cat toy store on the planet as far as I’m concerned) started.  How it works is people like you, me, kids, everyone can donate artwork or photographs of your favorite animals or animals you love which are then turned into greeting cards and sold as adorable sets on Etsy.  If you choose not to donate than you certainly should check out the card sets and consider purchasing them to support these amazing causes.  The sets are wonderfully cute and I cannot wait to purchase one.  Stacy has an insane huge heart of gold and only $1 goes to supplies for creating these cards and the rest of the proceeds of the sets sold are given to a Monthly Chosen Charity.  This month’s charity is a Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary.  Check it out HERE!!! :D

I watched a few movies including Fantastic Mr. Fox & Secrets of the CIA…and can’t remember the others so they can’t of been too good.

…What about you?  Anything exciting happen in your neck of the world?

p.s. – these are my fur kids when they are were babies, aren’t they just too much?! ;)
