Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter- Martin Luther King, Jr.

…What a Weekend! I wasn’t there, but the G8/G20 summits happened a few hours from me in Toronto, as most of you probably know. The big hyped up meeting with all the top world leaders making financial decisions, yada yada.

From what we were shown on TV, the protesting was totally sensationalized and demonized. There was a small group of people that were destructive and that is only what the media covered. Totally overshadowing the messages that the peaceful protestors were trying to get across. It’s rather infuriating to me. There are HUGE issues going on in the world today and it seems that nobody cares anymore, we are all too busy with our latest electronics, celebrities, movies, fashion, tv series etc. Not that there is anything wrong with enjoying the great things in life, but sometimes we get far too caught up in material things.

I applaud people who stand up for the rest of humanity!! Here is a great video of what the media wouldn’t show us…

…Check out this video of peaceful protestors being charged by cops after singing “Oh Canada”… the horrors.

…I don’t like to get too political, but I don’t think the governments of the world have the people’s best interest in mind, ever. There is so much conflict of interest from the pharmaceutical industry to the food industry and beyond. The news and education system is majorly censored and we are told what to think. I don’t mean to be negative but sometimes you just have to face the facts.

I promise I will never get political like this on Kitty Stampede ever again…hehehe…I know, it doesn’t really go well with all the cute.

If any of you are at all interested in learning more of the major issues at hand, (I don’t want to get into them here, I’ve said enough lol) Check out these sites and videos:

-Loose Change (documentary)…this is the first movie I seen that set me on my path of truth.

-We Are Change (website, showcasing a lot of information on major issues including 911 truth etc)

-Natural News (website on health, etc)

…There are a wealth of other books, documentaries and websites out there on these issues. I realize it’s heavy stuff, but it all comes down to the protection our freedom.

Dont worry - hearing the political from the cute just sends the message home that things really need to change!

our current society makes it so easy for us to ignore problems because LOOK! shiny new things!! and when you do try and stand up and make a point, it seems like no one is listening. sometimes we all need reminders that hey, the worlds not hunky dory and cute all the time.

You and me girlie, we are of like mind. Thanks for this post! I don't really speak my mind about politics on my blog either, because I'm quite passionate (ok, heated) about the things I believe in and the blog is almost a respite for me.

P.S. Thanks for your comment about my sister and I. At times we were the best of friends, at others we were literally trying to pull each others' hair out (we are only 13 months apart in age).
