Kitty Curtain Call

>

Today, I went to that 50% off sale at VV and I didn't bring any clothes home... :( I guess that is the thing with thrift shopping or even any shopping for that matter, there's the good days and there's the days where nothing seems quite right. I ended up purchasing some house items though, at least I didn't leave empty handed. I purchased a really nice pair of navy blue sheer but textured with a plant-like design curtains, orginally $20 but walked away paying $10...pretty sweet. They are vintage, but in mint condition. I have an odd obsession lately with curtains. I find they are really expensive to buy them brand, spankin' new but you can score some really original ones at flea markets or thrifting. I only own like 2 or 3 pairs of curtains and I expect waay more windows in my house, so will have to keep hunting. I totally want to learn to sew my own though...imagine what you could create. I find curtains can make or break a room. They add a je ne sais quois. I have this wanting for a really cool shade of green walls with the navy blue curtains. I love that color combo,oh and purple and green.
Apparently kitties like curtains too, a little too much sometimes, as in they climb them...haha...not my kitties... phewf.

I like curtains too! Much prettier than blinds. I'm sure you could make some curtains, easy peasy ;)
Yes, green and blue look beautiful together i think, I've never understood that "Blue and green should never be seen..." crap!
Well I'm glad you found some bargains, even if you didn't get any clothes! (I get disappointed when i don't find any threads :( ) It's a good thing your kitties aren't curtain climbers!

I love your idea of going vintage on curtains, make sure it's mint & wash them when you get them home ;) Wow... you've gathered nice pics with 'kitty x curtain'! You are so amazing!! Hope you have a great week darling ~xo*

I love the white pussy cat with his nose and paw peaking through - !! Vintage curtains sound lovely - you need to make sure they are good quality though and that they won't deteriorate too quickly due to their age.

Oh, I love this post... curtains are so romantic. At our last house, our little presh loved to hide in our one set of custom mades (wouldn't you know), but we left them with the house when it sold...hehe. Now we just have shudders everywhere, but oh how I love the softness curtains can bring to a room. Apparently, kitties agree. :)

aw man, this post is too cute!

and you are so right about curtains making or breaking a room.

i don't think you have ikea? you can get ROCKIN' deals on curtains at ikea. i got some new orange silky sorta/kinda sheerish numbers for my living room and when the light shines in it kind of looks like the place is on fire. but in a good way. i just stare at it like a mental patient and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. just a little. :)

Curtains are the hardest thing to find for a home, especially at a good price. You scored a deal! I know I'm supposed to be fawning over the adorable kitties, but I was also taken by how lovely these drapes are. The lemons and flowers are so cute, and my god the yellow drapes that wrap around two walls, paired with that chandelier. Gasp! Gorgeous!
